The General Application must be submitted electronically to Contests, Awards, and Scholarships Administrator Mary Gavalas by APRIL 1, 2012 to Scholarships@FloridaKeyClub.com.

 

Upon completion of the application, each applicant must mail the final page with original signatures to Mary Gavalas at the following address, postmarked by April 1, 2012 (high school transcripts and recommendations may also be sent by this method if necessary):

The Florida District of Key Club International scholarship recipients will be notified by May 6th and their names announced at the 2012 Florida District of Key Club Convention. All scholarships are provided as cash awards in the form of a check sent directly to the college or university and made out to the student. This check is sent in August directly to the school for deposit into the student’s account and may require the student to endorse the check.

 

 

Who is qualified for the scholarship program?

A Key Club member who:

___ Has been an active Key Club member for two years in good standing.

___ Has completed volunteer work directed toward disabled children and adults (if applying for the SNAP scholarship).

___ Has paid dues and appears on the roster on file at Key Club International.

___ Is a graduating high school senior

___ Is a college-, university-, technical-, or vocational school-bound student.

___ Has a grade–point average of at least a “B” or the equivalent of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

___ Has attached an official high school transcript with an explanation of the grading system utilized.

___ Submits the application electronically to the Contests, Awards and Scholarships Administrator, Mary Gavalas, at Scholarships@FloridaKeyClub.com by April 1, 2012.

 

 

Florida Opportunity Fund Scholarship

Description: Unused funds from the previous year’s FLOF budget will be designated for $1000 scholarships for college bound seniors.  Scholarship based solely on merit.

Application Type:  General Application

Deadline: April 1, 2012

Amount Awarded: $1000 per scholarship

Number Awarded:  No FLOF scholarships will be provided this year, as there was not any money left over in the FLOF budget from the 2009-2010 year.

 

Convention Program Scholarships

Description: Awarded to college bound seniors from clubs that sell at least $200 in convention program ads. Ad revenue will be used to cover the cost of the convention program booklets and leftover funds will be designated for scholarships.

Amount Awarded: $1,000 per scholarship

Number Awarded:  Number awarded depends on amount collected on program advertisements. At least 1 scholarship will be provided.

 

Special Needs Awareness Program Scholarship

Description: Awarded to a qualified college bound senior that demonstrates the strongest passion for the Governor’s SNAP Project. Scholarship based solely on merit.

Application Type: General Application (Including additional essay as listed in the application, Part IV)

Amount Awarded:  $1,000 per scholarship

Florida District Matching Scholarships

Description: Awarded to three college bound seniors demonstrating the strongest qualifications per the general application essay and information. Scholarship based solely on merit.

Amount Awarded: $1,000 per scholarship

Number Awarded:  3

 

 

G. Harold Martin Outstanding Club President Scholarship

Description:  Awarded to the one club president judged the most outstanding among all who meet the Distinguished Club President Award criteria. Scholarship based solely on merit.
