Treasurer Duties and Responsibilities

Manage Dues

  1. Collect and update member dues into the Membership Update Center. Proceed with dues paying process to Key Club International
  2. Work with other club officers to publicize the club and encourage new membership
  3. Plan on receiving Early Bird Dues
  4. Continue recruiting members throughout the year, collecting and submitting dues as needed

Fundraise

  1. Work with club officers and members to plan fundraisers and decide appropriate causes to which to donate
  2. Record income/expenses and submit to Secretary for the use of Pride Reports
  3. Collect, count, and store money, as the financial officer, money-related matters are your responsibility

Finance

  1. Prepare a club budget, updating it after fundraisers and various expenses
  2. Record all transactions
  3. Keep records that are timely, accurate, and confirmed when possible.
  4. Handle reimbursements, if any.
  5. Be prepared to update advisors, officers, and Kiwanians on club’s financial status

Various

  1. Serve as an exemplary club member, leading by example to help promote Key Club standards of conduct and professionalism
  2. Encourage younger and new members to seek leadership roles
  3. Continue attending service projects and helping the community
  4. Prepare the budget, present it to the board for approval, and ensure that club activities adhere to the budget
  5. Maintain accurate financial records
  6. Inform the Kiwanis club of the Key Club’s financial status
  7. Understand school and club policies regarding student financial accounts relating to school organizations

Be a good immediate-past

  1. Transfer all files and records to the incoming treasurer
  2. Explain responsibilities and policies, give tips, and show your successor the Membership Update Center.
  3. Spread the importance of dues to your clubs and members; Give a presentation at a general meeting or orientation about the purpose and values of dues. Show them the dues tutorial video
