How much is the chartering fee?The chartering fee for a new club is $600 and must be paid by the sponsoring Kiwanis club at the time of chartering. Why do we have to pay a fee? This fee includes membership dues for all members on the original charter, membership pins, cards, handbooks, and certificates. It also includes a club banner, gong, and gavel. You basically need all of these items to fully function as a club. So we have to pay the chartering fee and dues? No, for your first year as a club you will only have to pay the chartering fee except for any new member who join after your club is chartered. You will pay International and District dues in your second year. If your club was chartered before April 1st, your club will be invoiced for dues the follow September/October. If your club was chartered after April 1st, your club will not be invoiced until the following year, but you need to submit dues for any new members who join the next year.
